This is, of course, normal because majority expects that only the younger generation would enjoy gaming consoles. The first thing to remember if you want to do this is to know first what type of unit they play on. There are three major game consoles today: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii, not to mention the handheld games like the PSP or Nintendo DS. In every Video Game Buying Guide that you would find in the internet today, all of them will tell you the same thing that you need to know which is which, otherwise it will just be a big inconvenience for you, or ultimately, buy the right game title but for the wrong console. When finding a game, you do not really have to know every single interest that the one getting it has. Just find out the kind of game like role playing games, shooters, platformers, racing, or fighting games. The sales person should be able to give you the latest games available.
